Bobbie A. Self is the founder of The Best Travel Biz Academy, established in 2026 as an education platform created to help independent travel agents, transition from commission-splitting models to true business ownership.
She spent nearly a decade operating within the host-agency model, gaining firsthand insight into both its advantages and its limitations. In parallel, Bobbie brings over 20 years of business consulting experience, holds an MBA, and previously served in executive leadership within a Fortune 100 luxury travel and lifestyle department.
After stepping away from both corporate leadership and the host-agency system, Bobbie intentionally took a year to research, refine, and design what would become The Best Travel Biz Academy, built to address the structural gaps she experienced firsthand and to provide agents with a clearer path to ownership.
